I have 7 RTM installed (and uxtheme patched) and decided to test out VSB 1.4 on it.

When I make changes to the style and hit 'test', nothing changes no matter what I change in the style.

Sometimes you just have to keep reloading the test till it shows up...

I've got 7 RTM too, and testing themes is not a problem...

I've uninstalled VSB, redownloaded it, and reinstalled.

Changed the Caption Buttons and even some fonts, hit test and nothing changes.

Is there a seperate version for 7?

You and me both, Sweatyfish Sad

For me, if I testing the theme will work 75% if I do it as soon as I import the theme.
But once I do that, the dialog window will not show up, so clicking Save/Edit/Export/Import/whatever does nothing which renders it useless.

Yeah, seems like we have the same problem. I finally got it to half work like you said by removing my manual uxtheme patch and using a memory patcher.

Here's what happens to me:

-Open up new style and make edit.

-Tests and saves okay.

-Close VSB

-Open the custom style again in VSB and make a change.

-Tests okay again, but after I stop the test, all controls in VSB are unresponsive.

-I tried to delete the style's folder but got the error 'in use by another program ect.'.

-Only after logging out and back in, I could finally delete the style.

I have an idea... but it will be a pain the rear...

1.  Open up VSB, import Vista theme
2.  Edit button works as it bypasses the open/save dialog window (anything using the dialog window doesn't work for some reason).
3.  After done editing image, save image, or save image to a folder and drag & drop to the VSB image preview, effectively importing the image and bypassing the dialog window
4.  Test theme, if theme testing works, then VSB should actually compile (save) the theme as a temp file in %temp% in the form of ave****.tmp.
5.  Go to %temp% and change view to DateModified.  Search for the latest ave****.tmp file.  Rename it to your theme name.msstyles and drag it over to your theme folder and restart the process.

Yeah, that's a bit too much work.  Oh well. Sad  Hopefully we'll get an update soon Smiley

I've traced this to a bug in a Microsoft supplied library on Windows 7 so far... Working on a work-around the next couple of days.
