Windows Transparency?

What do I need to add to make the windows semi Transparent like the taskbar? Making the image transparent does nothing. Windows just stay solid.



-New to theming windows 8. Man is it sure different than windows 7 :p

There is no way to make the windows transparent, sadly MS have removed most of the old aero features from Windows 8

i refer just for knowing as i dont know how practical is to see a method i found while searching for Aero Glass For Windows 8 RTM.

a better solution must be found, as referring that you have before closing the system or when open, every time, to rename a system file, as mentioned also:

 1.DO NOT OPEN IE10 OR PC WILL CRASH.

 2.MUST ALWAYS HAVE uDWM.dllRTM SET TO uDWM.dll FOR SIGN-OUT OR RESTARTING-PC OR SHUTTING-DOWN-PC (Screen Will Be Black).

 3.MUST ALWAYS REPEAT STEP 4 ON STARTUP

perchaps an expert would solve those issues.

That breaks Windows way too easily and I had to end up reinstalling Windows. I wouldn't really recommend it.

Probably custom drawn. There have been a lot of custom window bordering applications for XP to add transparency, some of which still work (though barely) in Windows 8.

I think this looks like the real thing, I had a feeling this would be possible after seeing the work on StartIsBack and how he was able to disable and enable the transparency on the start menu and taskbar.

off topic I have been talking to the creator of SIB and his next version will also include being able to have a custom Userpicture frame and native support for changing the start menu theme using the msstyles.

From what I've tested, SIB already supports custom start menu themes using the msstyles, I mean, just creating a straight port with no changes gave me this: http://thepanda-x.deviantart.com/#/d5kyqc4 which is damn near perfect.

Yeah not sure what he means exactly but I think he may be making custom themes useable without needing to patch any files, will just have to wait to see what the go is with that one.

Great work on the port by the way, if we ever do get transparency back in the frames it will be perfect.

It's clearly native in that video and I remember disabling blur in the taskbar on windows 7 by installing a custom toolbar on it so it is possible
