3am,

in this thread:
http://vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=1180.0

I notice that your rating only show: "System Rating is not available"
How do you disable the System Rating?

I hate that system rating index number, as it appears that it is a windows generated raster image and looks very jiggy if we replaced the panel color to a dark color. I also noticed Dave Senior has managed to overcome the problem ...
Perhaps Dave should also give a walk thru as to how he did it ..  Smiley

For the score Background change the Bitmaps here:

C:\Windows\System32 > WinSATAPI.dll > Bitmap's  221 and 222 .

Yes Dave, I've got that bitmap 221 & 222 ...
Tried to replicate your image and save it with alpha channel,
only shows a white background with black outline and the index number looks very ugly ...

Managed to disable Experience index thru regedit.

Yeah .. right ...
and also on your CPL-System only shows: "System Rating is not available"

Just in case you're interested in turning on/off of that Experience Rating, here is the link:

... and perhaps you can further explore the problem with the score number ugly looking ..  Smiley

The  score number has something to do with having transparency in  the  image,as you can see mine's made up of solid  colors,no transparency  ,no bad looking number.

You might have that mixed up, at least in my case with transparency is much better than solid color.

The first two images use a red solid color and the last two use transparency ...

Thanks guys ...

I come 4 month later....
thanks to have made available your work on this.

I have noticed that, with a totally black alpha layer (and a "hex color"=44, 45, 45):
-the upper left pixel gives the shadow color of the score
-the adjacent pixel immediately on the right is the transparent color. But this color, if present under the score number, will show up through the antialiasing pixels!

illustration :

Here the shadow and the transparent color are the same (red) making the shadow transparent everywhere BUT through the anti-aliasing of the score.
