Hello, I just purchased VSB specifically to edit this one particular theme: Clearscreen Sharp (Windows 7): http://k-johnson.deviantart.com/art/Clearscreen-Sharp-for-Windows7-141360821 The theme includes this ugly black glow under the text as seen below: If anyone could remove or at least tell me how to remove this ugly black glow from the theme, I'd appreciate it and I may even send you a few bucks via PayPal. What I want is to have the black glow removed so it's just the text, there is no glow (transparent). Please test it with a reboot to be sure. I think I found the location of the glow in VSB but I do not know how to remove it: I tried editing the image so it's transparent, but when I save the theme and apply it, my Win7 Machine just gives me the plain old default AERO theme again. I even tried deleting the whole image itself (the glow) and saved it, applied it, it gave me the basic Aero again. The help would greatly be appreciated it, I think this black glow is one con out of the ClearSharp theme, though it's a quite sleek theme for Windows 7. Many thanks to you all!

Unfortunately, I already tried that and erased the image with Photoshop CS4, but when I saved the theme and applied it, it gave me the default AERO theme.

Oh, I may have a different version, mine is located under "OTHER"
If you could edit the theme and test it successfully, I would really appreciate it.

You should download the latest version 1.5.
Just use the information in the email you received when you bought WSB.

From the look of this screen you are using WSB in Vista not Windows 7 ( Taskbar & Tray Notify instead of Taskbar & System Tray). Why?

Yes, as for now, I need to finish editing this theme, do you mind explaining step by step on how to get rid of this black glow? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am still new to the program.
I am actually running Windows 7, I can assure you that. I'll update my VSB after the theme is done, maybe that's why It's not working. Can anyone edit for me please?

I see, I'll update as soon as I get this theme working. Any help is appreciated. Though, I do understand why 1.4 is not supported. I just need help.

I UPDATED TO 1.5
It should say "TASKBAR and SYSTEM TRAY" correct? If so, then I validated my copy to 1.5, I believe I can do the edits now if someone would please explain how...if you want a screenshot of 1.5, I can post one up.

Now that I've updated to 1.5, the "TEST" feature actually works and it doesn't show the black glow anymore. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE RECOMMENDATION. Anyway to "SAVE" it proper ally?

Thank you Panda, I had to save it as the original name and replace the original old .msstyle. It worked successfully after I updated to 1.5, thank you. I should've updated sooner.
In the past, I would save the modified msstyle as THEME1.msstyle or something along those lines and edited the .theme file and changed the path to THEME1.msstyle instead of THEME.msstyle. I guess that doesnt work, you have to replace it with the original name and cannot edit the .theme file with notepad.
Many thanks to everyone for the help! Great fast community.

Wouldn't he not have been able to sign up if he didn't have a legit key?

I did wonder why he first installed WSB 1.4 as the download link should give the latest version.

Actually, I'm not. I'm currently using 1.5 right now that successfully edited the theme (unlike 1.4.) which I just recently installed from a backup

I'm going to post my modified version of ClearScreen on the forums (with credits to the original designer of course) to help everyone out since a lot of people I know have been looking for this as well. It would also be greatly appreciated if the administrators could delete this thread because it is no longer of use, or at LEAST delete those comments concluding I used a warez installation, which I did not. It would be nice if a customer could simply ask for some help on the forums without being accused as a pi rate. Please do understand, I have nothing further more to add due to the fact that it's just a community help forum. Thank you all, including admins, for all your help on saving/modifying. This really is a great community!
