Hi Andreas,

I have another alpha bug conversion to report.

This one occurs at "Buttons, Boxes & Controls > Progress Bars > Normal >
MoveOverlay".

Maybe you can follow these steps and confirm what I see:  A rougher (gradient banding) looking MoveOverlay in the progressbar.

1.  Go to "Buttons, Boxes & Controls > Progress Bars > Normal >
MoveOverlay"
2.  Export the image.
3.  Import the same image normally (holding Shift makes the image dim)
4.  Test and view the MoveOverlay in the Control Preview window at "Bars
and Sliders".  It's the move bar with the flashy thing going over it.

You should see the moving pulse on the progressbar and it looks rough and
isn't smooth like it was before exporting/importing.

I have not checked the other overlays but maybe they might have the same
problem, too.

I sent you an email earlier but have not received any replies so I'm assuming you're on vacation.  In case you didn't get it, well there's the bug report.  It's one thing that's preventing me from releasing my skin.

Thanks!

You should be reporting that one to Microsoft.

Why?  I reported a similar alpha conversion bug when VSB was first released and Ave fixed it.  I'm getting the exact same banding + darker-when-shift-imported look that I had earlier.

I know the transparent Start button is buggy, but I believe that is the fault of Windows.  Is that what you meant?

I reported this exact same problem in the first version on one of the elements and Ave fixed it pretty quickly, releasing a new version some time ago  8):

Changelog 1.0.4:

FIX: Dwm Window images would come out slightly darker due to an alpha conversion bug, this has been fixed (thanks to Kerry for reporting).
FIX: Some Part and State names where incorrect. (thanks to Kerry and PandaX)
FIX: A small bug with StyleHacks made some properties have a wrong color

I'm having the same problem in MoveOverlay, even exporting and importing the same clean resource in Aero's MoveOverlay.  It'll come out darker or very harshly with the shift key.

Is that a photoshop image? If so try recreating it in the gimp. I've had troubles with gradient alpha images from photoshop not working, but being perfect from the gimp.

Could be.  Do you think Paint.net will work?

I will try with that first Smiley

I'll try to recheck the list of "alpha-fix images" for the next release!
