I am attempting to modify Vista's default visual style. I can't figure out how to do a couple things. Maybe someone more talented than me can help me out. Here are the things I would like to accomplish:

1. Make the task bar look like this: http://http://media.longhornfusion.net/GlowEffects.swf

2. Change Vista's light blue highlighting (such as in the start menu, explorer, menus) to different, more viewable color

Thank-you,
Joe

1.)
Taskbar
Taskbar Normal || Taskbar & Tray Notify > Taskband > Aero > Toolbar > <default> *
Taskbar Hover || Taskbar & Tray Notify > Taskband > Aero > Toolbar > <default> > Hot *
Taskbar Pressed || Taskbar & Tray Notify > Taskband > Aero > Toolbar > <default> > Pressed *
Taskbar Selected || Taskbar & Tray Notify > Taskband > Aero > Toolbar > <default> > NearHot *

* Add Property Color Textcolor. You can also add Int TextGlowSize and Color GlowColor.

2.) Search for ListView. You'll see the images you are looking for.

Thanks, Panda X. Your post helped me a lot. I'm still having a little bit of trouble, though.

For number one, how do you get rid of the rectangles in the task bar, so that there is only text like in the example in my first post?

For number two, could you provide some more details about what exactly I need to change?

I've never skinned anything before, so this is all new to me. I really do appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Joe

1.) Edit the image found at Taskbar & Tray Notify > Taskband > Basic > Toolbar > Button.

2.) The images are located at Explorer & Shell > Explorer > ListView > ListItem for Explorer, Start > StartMenu > Menus > Aero > PlaceList:ListView > ListItem for the Aero Start Menu, Start > StartMenu > Panels > Basic > MoreProgramsTab for the All Programs label, and Start > StartMenu > Menus > Basic > ListView > ListItem > SelectedNotFocus for the Basic Start Menu.

Thanks Panda X  :D ! That helped a lot. I have two last questions (hopefully):

1. How do you change the text color in the explorer file browser when the item is highlighted, "hot" (I assume that means hovered over), ect?

2. Also, how do you change the highlight color and the text color when highlighted for programs like Firefox, Word 2007, ect?

Thanks again,
Joe
