Just some background: I'm on Windows 7 64-bit, WSB 1.5.0.0.

So the issue is that whenever I press "Stop Testing", and save and apply the style, some elements seem to revert back to default behaviors. This is one example here.

So my guess is that I have to package it in some way, or export it somehow? Sorry if this has been dealt with but I've looked around the forum and didn't come up with anything.

Thanks!

So everything is ok when you are testing but not after saving and applying?

1) When you reopen your msstyles are all your changes still there?
2) Do you have a shell folder in your theme folder? Do you have a modded shellstyle?
3) What happens if you apply it in Personalization?
4) Does stopping and restarting Explorer make a difference or rebooting?

Yes
1. Yes.

2. The problem persists after restoring the shell style to default.

3. I can't load the style through anything but WSB. Is this because I'm not exporting it properly for Windows 7?

4. The only condition that makes it work properly is when WSB is testing.

Attach or pm me your msstyles. I'll see if I can get it to work.

If you have a modded shellstyle send me that too. And let me know what I should be looking for as far as changes not showing up

Ok. I got it saving and applying correctly through both WSB and Personalization.

Put the attached Theme folder (titansgift) in Resources/Themes. I included a .theme file for you. Put that in Resources/Themes too.

It works fine for me now so it should work for you too Smiley

How did you make it into a .theme? Is there a tutorial somewhere?

Thank you very much.

Let me know if it works. Just open up the .theme file with Notepad I made for you and you'll see how I did it

Wow that was an "aha!" moment. I didn't realize it was that simple. Much appreciated.

Yeah. I just made a basic .theme file for you. You can change all sorts of stuff like wallpaper, sounds etc.

Don't forget once you open it in Notepad you will need to apply it by opening it with Windows Shell Common Dll. It will then appear in Personalization and you can later apply from there.

I think your main problem was that you didn't have a correctly made theme folder and/or didn't have it in Resources/Themes
