Thanks to 3am for his maps and videos - I can spent time doing something productive instead of hunting around.

Tried to follow his suggestion on the Start Aero Menu but was not successful.

Was using -
1.6 XMLs; StartMenu > Panels > Aero > Top > Programs List > Programs List

Then add property of color > fillcolor but it did not change the background color

Edit the image. You have to open the image in an image editor and change it. Fillcolors etc don't do it.
