Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Weird graphic glitch on thumbnails & controls background

This same thing has started to happen even if the theme is applied through personalization menu. Restart won't do any tricks.
Any fix ?
Edit: I tried to reinstall uxstyle, but i ran into some serious problems again. Just black screen after boot. I tried to delete all custom themes, but one of them is used by winlogon.exe and it can't be deleted. I think that's the cause of black screen, it tries to load theme which no longer exists.
Didn't care to restore my system anymore. I'll see into it in somepoint. Fuck im bored of this messing, it used to be too easy with 7.

Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Explorer top frame icon size ?
|
on: December 30, 2013, 08:56:52 pm

This might not be the best place to ask this. Anyway, does anyone know which is the correct icon size for top frame? it seems that it's resizing icons. They surely don't look nice at all.

Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Re: Opacity for Thumbnails & Controls background ?

Make sure you have an 8.1 shellstyle in your theme folder. Maybe that's your problem.
BTW that light gray line in your TBUI scrollbar picture means that you still have some of that color in your image at
Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Aero > TaskBandExtendedUI > Horizontal > Thumbnails & Controls > ScrollBar > Main Image
Check it to make sure.
I'll check it. Btw. Is it possible to force 92dpi on ? I'd like to use higher caption bar height, but it automatically swithes to 192dpi setting. Window control glyphs are now way too far away from each other. Edit: Yup, that was it. I only edited glyphs not the main image.

I found the glyph but not any luck with the others. And yes it's extended taskband which is in the first picture. That same white line is present on default style also, don't know what it is. But thanks. Edit: Sorry to bother you guys again, but i just noticed that command module button has turned it's style into classic. Button itself is still default, so it's not skinned. What's causing that ?

Help / Windows 8 / Windows 8.1 / Opacity for Thumbnails & Controls background ?
|

Hi !
Is it possible to add opacity for thumbnails & controls background ? (Correct path is Windows 8 -> Taskband Extended UI -> Background) There is property for it, but it doesn't do anything :/
8 seems to ignore opacity everywhere except on taskbar.

That's window bottom frame in Windows&Caption > Aero > DWM Window > Frame > Window > Bottom This is what im trying to achieve, there's gradient involved with frames, but it seems impossible to make at the moment. Im also having problems with botttom frame black strokes, they won't resize correctly. Top frame is acting normally... ?

It seems that win 8 doesn't resize images the same way 7 was doing. Im having some issues with gradients. I set margins to zero and this is what it's supposed to look. But im getting this Why it's rejecting margins totally ?

Where is that black text color ? Atleast it's not window text color... Edit: Is it possible to use individual navigation buttons on the window seen above ? It was possible on 7, or actually they were separate files.

Just tried to edit the .theme file, but it didn't quite work as i thought.
I changed colorization into plain white (ffffff) It turned unfocused window into white, but focused window turned into black.
So it only changes unfocused window color and changes focused window color into black ?

I found both of those text colors, can't remember which one that grey one was, though. But i couldn't find that glow, i searched through wsb.
It looks nice now, so no need to search it anymore.

More questions. It concerns about excel's caption texts. What is that orange text ? I could not find it by searching on wsb. Where's that glow ? Where was that grey text, can't remember ? Edit: I found that orange one. It's CompositedWindow::Window > Caption > Active and inactive, but where else is that used, incase that i can't remove glow ?

Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Aero > TaskBandExtendedUI > Horizontal > Thumbnails & Controls > Title > TEXTCOLOR:COLOR
Same when windows are active or inactive
I didn't obviously made myself clear enough. Caption text is black if i move my cursor over aero peek window, so that it shows minimized app. The topic was here http://vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=672.0

All controlled by the contentmargins here > Address, Breadcrumb, & Search > Address > AddressBand > Basic > AddressBand > Background Unfortunately it controls even icons on addressbar, now they overlap addressbar border. Don't know why it can't be just like searchbar. You just can't create it in a way that it would look good. Anyway, has anyone found that text color which is used on aero peek when window is unactive. It's black now. I found an old topic where the same question was asked, unfortunately there were no answer.

Is it possible to move addressbar progressbar 2 pixels to the left ? Now it's 2 pixels shorter from the left. Where that blue arrow glyph can be found, i suppose it's not in the visual style ? Thanks.

I thought that it's not image, but thanks. Edit: More problems. I changed font size from 9 to 8 and now addressbar arrow glyphs are misaligned on inactive state. Top one is active adressbar and glyphs are on correct place but on inactive state glyphs are moving 1 pixel to the right, why so ? I already edited inactive glyphs and moved them 1 pixel to the left, but it had no effect at all. Everything goes back to normal if i change font size back to 9. Edit2: Fixed by setting 2, 2, 2, 2 content margins for both inactive and active glyphs.

What is the progress bar background in this picture. This can be found from Backup and restore. That background isn't the same that is used on harddrives progress bars.
