The taskbar properties are removed in TH2 and onwards so they need to be added back in again, I ran your theme through my import script and added back the classes you need, I also added the properties and fixed the taskbar for you, I noticed your frames wre a bit funky looking as well so I adjusted the content margins in  Windows & Caption Buttons > Aero > DWM Window > Frames > Window > Top from 5, 0, 0, 0 to 1, 0, 0, 0 hope you like the changes

The frames were designed that way. lol.  It's a port of an xp theme that had borders so that's why I set it to have a slight border.

The latest TH2 Theme I've been working on is missing the class maps in the .msstyle file for some reason?!?

I'd really like to theme taskbar but it's missing.  Can anyone have a look to see if I've overlooked something?

The Start Menu is skinned just fine...I don't know what's going on, I'm in a bind.  Please help!

It is not Fonts, Colors, & System Metrics > Fonts & System Metrics --> SIZINGBORDERWIDTH

The explorer arrow can be removed/disabled with OldNewExplorer if you want.  I don't believe you can edit it.  It's in the shell32.dll under 16817 (enabled) 16818 (disabled) if I'm correct.  But in Win10 I don't think you can mess with the shell32.dll file or you'll botch your system.
The Windows frame can be changed with the content margins found at Windows & Caption Buttons > Aero > DWM Window > Frames > Window > Top

Sorry for the late reply, been busy with the UNITY 2016 project... The very top of the caption frame is located in the shadows part so I could make it a bit rounded.  For the rebar just remove the image properties from Toolbars, Headers, & Rebar > Rebar > NavBar > Aero make the BGType None.

Now I have the TH2 Update and I read the postings before.
I tried a test.
I opened the new aerolite.msstyles in WSB. Then I changed a color somewhere and tried to test. But WSB gave an error :

"Error Testing MsStyles File".

What is the problem?

Why are you using the aerolite.msstyles btw?  The default aero theme is what I use.

Yeah with Cu88's method you can create new Visual Styles from scratch.  They don't need to be basic.  Just fire up WSB and create a new theme and they apply just fine.  The old themes don't work anymore but at least until a better patcher comes out this method works.  Also the new updated class maps and groups from Mr Grimm work awesome as well.

You might find with some themes you need to change the images from Windows & Caption Buttons > Aero > DWM Window > <65> to <92>

65 - 88 are the glyph images

89 - 92 are the min/max button images

I had to change these on one of my themes.

Yeah I figured how to do that, still having issues without WSB to apply them though.   Weird. 

It seems if I fiddle too much with the caption buttons I get an error applying the theme using the aerolite.msstyles hack for some reason.  The rest of the theme applies except for the caption bar and the caption buttons.  Must be how it's reading the DWM Window or Stream.  Works when I apply it using WSB though.  Will investigate further!

I just tried putting my themes for Windows November Update that I'm creating into the regular places and they are working now after modifying the original aerolite.msstyles!

Now the themes are working fine (not the old RTM ones) but the new ones.  So all you have to do is replace the normal aerolite.msstyles with my modified version and any further installed ones should work fine!  Still bummed out that I have to redo all my themes but at least it's a start.

*Update after logging out and back in it doesn't seem to be working! doh!

Using gsw953's method I was able to update Metro X to apply without WSB on the November Update!

So we know it can be done.  Just a better solution needs to be found to select themes.  I'm super excited!

I noticed too there's no longer a shellstyle.dll included with default aero theme.  So when I apply a theme to test it it uses the custom shellstyle.dll I made for Metro X to get the dark side panel with white text but as soon as I quit stylebuilder it stops using the shellsyle so it revert back to black text on the sidepanel.  Hopefully this won't be an issue even if someone figures out how to apply themes through Personalization CPL.

If it comes down to it, I'm sure someone like Ave or somebody could come up with an application to apply themes using a similar engine WSB uses to apply them.  Without having to worry about the CPL option all together.  That'd be sweet!

Yeah I would like to see a feature implemented if possible for an import Windows 8.1 and Windows RTM feature that would fix the issues.  That's kinda what I meant for a Windows 10 version of WSB.  I tried all kinds of things too, from trying different combinations of strings from the original aero .msstyle using Resource Hacker and importing to the Windows 10 RTM themes I've done.  Really an exercise in frustration after many failed attempts.  Also like you said hopefully UxStyle and ULtraUXthemePatcher fix the applying issue.

Got it working like you guys.  Not able to import my old themes.  Or apply the new ones without the help of StyleBuilder.  But here's hoping someone comes up with a patcher or workaround.

Damn, I just made all these visual styles for Windows 10 RTM, now they're all broken with the 'new' fall update. Sometimes I really hate Windows!  Love hate relationship going on I suppose.  Hopefully this gets resolved.  Really love customizing Windows 10.  For pity's sake why do they have to screw with the theme engine, it's like they're out to get us skinners I swear!  

I'd really love to see a WindowsStyleBuilder for Windows 10.  I'd pay again for it's development.  It's about time we paid for an updated version anyhow, all the support that's been given since it's release.

Might be you. I have had WSB get corrupted a few times with these upgrades in VM ware, mainly the AveStyle.msstyles, solution is download a fresh copy and replace that file.

So sorry to hear that mate.  I'll keep trying with it on my end and see if I come across any issues.  You didn't by chance change the SysWOW64 explorerframe.dll did you?

Me too, same thing, a fresh install in VMware.  Did you make the changes yourself using reshacker?

I just reverted to the old file to check, all seems fine.  Did you replace your old .dll file?  Did you back it up?  If you need the original I can share it with you for x64.

Seems like the issue has gotten worse and now everything on my PC is unregistered, I can't run anything at all now. I tried to get the dll file to register, but it keeps giving me an error.

Are you sure you haven't done anything else or installed something else that may be doing this?  I've had no issues of the sort.  Seems fine on my end.

EDIT: I've notice that this causes the ExplorerFrame.dll to become unregistered (e.g. trying to open any file from IE will result in "class not registered" error). Anyone know how to fix this?

Jamie your explorerframe.dll is only for x64? because i get a black screen after logon, i restored my dll and it's fine

It's the one found in Windows/System32/ folder.  But yeah I'm using the 64x edition.  Sorry, should have mentioned that.
All you have to do it open up your explorerframe.dll using reshack and delete under UFILE/EXPLORER_RIBBON the 1033 instance.  Or you can send me your 32bit one and I can edit for you.

on 9860 build OldNewExplorer doesn't hide the ribbon and doesn't add the bottom info bar

i've tryed Ribon Disabler from Winaero, but too no result, and it's blocking Start Menu

You can delete the ribbon in the explorerframe.dll for now as a temporary solution.

So i tried applying your msstyles and as you can see they applied fine:

I used Grim's 8.1 to 10 script. Script works fine.
I also fixed your Windows 8 (For Testing Purposes Only) > Jump Lists > SplitItemLabelBackground. This was a mistake in your msstyles not in the script
I didn't do anything else.
So the black screen is on your end. No idea why.
I'm using Uxstyle. I'm not using a vm.
Msstyles etc are attached

Whatever you did, did the trick mate.  Thanks so much for the help.  Not sure why it was bugging on my end only when I applied it earlier.

When testing your msstyles I found an error in your JumpLists.

See whether the attached msstyles will apply.

If it does then check the properties and values I changed at Windows 8 (For Testing Purposes Only) > Jump Lists > SplitItemLabelBackground and do the same for your other msstyles.

This might be the solution. Maybe.

Sorry I'm calling it BSOD, it's actually Black Screen Of Death no Blue Screen so not sure what the issue is.

Hey mate, thanks for the hard work!  Am I the only one who is experiencing BSOD after applying and saving?  I can test it and it works great but when I save the file and go to use the theme from the personalization options it Black Screens on me?  Any suggestions.

with the nome theme I had to copy the files from the Windows 10 aero for the jumplist.  Not sure you can skin the start menu however.

Working on the jumplist bug.  Oh Microsoft why do you have so many redundant images in your Visual Styles still? lol

I've had no problems with ONE  ,have my install on  a partition and so far so good.
Only problem I've had is  Restorator stopped working

I'll try again and see what the results are!

EDIT:  Yeah seems to be working fine now.  Not sure what it was then.
