I just tried installing VSB on my new machine, but it's not working. It installed OK, and on first run I get a prompt to enter my email and password, but once I do that, the main app doesn't start. I don't get any error messages or anything...

Any ideas?

Is the AveStyler project dead?
I just sent someone to the website telling them to buy it but it says "unavailable" 

can i assume this is the same problem i am battling that makes the app virtually unusable? whenever i test or apply a theme, i lose many open/close dialog boxes, including the boxes in Style Builder. this means that to test a change, i have to save the VS, close style builder, then apply it.

the bug is also present in AveStyler. i have to remember not to change my VS while working in microsoft office!

i hope this gets resolved. seems like the bug has been around for a while, and it really does make this program difficult to use.

I'm experiencing this too, even after running BcMapFixer as suggested. In fact, it happens with every VS I use, even a slightly modded Aero! All open apps lose their ability to call open/save dialogs, and only restarting them fixes it. The start menu also goes funky, and I have to restart explorer to restore it.

It also happens when using AveStyler.

Any ideas how to sort this out?

By the way, the problem exists on two machines - one running Windows 7 Ultimate 7100 x32, the other Windows 7 Home Premium 7600 x32.

anybody know why this white border is here, and how i can get rid of it? all i did was square off the corners of the original aero images, and now this appears...

i've been messing with the window shadows in the stream, trying to get them squared off to match my square window borders, but i'm having a rough time with it. i just can't visualize how they're put together to form the final shadow effect.

has anyone made shadows with square corners? or perhaps you know an existing VS with square shadows i can look at?

some suggestions:

either square off the window borders, or round off the shadows. the corners look really messy.

more contrast in the 'embed' effect would really make a big difference. against very light or very dark backgrounds you can't see the effect at all...

i've often thought about how cool a VS like this would be. the taskbar is very clever - wouldn't have thought of doing it like that! and using shadows for the windows is also brilliant.
