1  Help / Windows 7 / Re: Desktop Icon Mouseover on: December 08, 2009, 08:28:33 pm
If I understood it right, he is searching the hover images for the desktop items:
Explorer & Shell > Explorer > ListView > ListItem

That's it! Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it!

Not quite it but you are right when you say that a lot of Aero images can be found in the basic folder!

3  Help / Windows 7 / Desktop Icon Mouseover on: December 04, 2009, 04:34:09 am
When you mouseover an icon on your Windows 7 desktop, a blue square appears around the icon.

Where in Win7 Style Builder can I modify this blue square?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

VSB converts the alpha into some odd format that Windows uses. If you don't use the alpha converter (Shift+Import) graphical glitches are more than likely going to occur.

So if I use Shift+Import it should work? If that's all it takes then I'll be really happy!

Thanks for your help and fast reply,

InTime

P.S.: I'll let you know if this works or not a bit later... Thanks again!
6  Windows Style Builder / Bug Reports / Alpha PNG images don't import properly (fixed) on: November 20, 2009, 12:26:41 pm
Hi,

Every time I modify an image via Paint.net OR import a PNG transparent image, the resulting image is several shades darker (i.e., a light blue transparent image will appear as dark blue with a lot less transparency).

Here's an example:

The image on the left is the original image and when it gets imported into Win7 StyleBuilder it changes to the image on the right which is a lot darker and has less transparency. Definitely not the color that I want!

Is there something that I can do so that the images keep their original color and transparency?

I tried this on my Vista system and also on my Windows 7 system and I get the same results. I have Windows Style Builder 1.5.0.0 which I downloaded today so I guess it's the most up to date version (not sure why I didn't get 1.5.0.3). It also did this with version 1.4.0.0...

I tried everything humanly possible to try to get this working...

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Isn't basic suppose to use opaque images? Or does Windows simply convert the transparent image to an opaque version when basic is used?

Thanks a lot!

I am just wondering why this wasn't in the Aero section...

At least I now know where it is!

Thanks again,

Where do I go in Win7 Style Builder to modify the 'Show desktop' part of the taskbar?  (that slim vertical rectangle at the very far right of the taskbar)

Thanks for any help on this?

12  Help / Windows 7 / Is Win7 Style Builder compatible with Windows 7 RC (build 7100) on: April 27, 2009, 03:46:13 pm
I've updated my Visual Style for Windows 7 RC but it doesn't seem to work...  I tried applying it with AveStyler without success!

Has Win7 Style Builder been tested with 7 RC?

If it's not compatible yet, will there be an update soon for AveStyler and Win7 Style Builder?

Thanks,

InTime

EDIT: It's now working but only after I manually patched my UXTheme. The one shot in memory UXTheme Patch found in Win7 Style Builder didn't work!  Others Win7 Style Builder users may have to confirm this...
13  Help / Windows 7 / How to center the caption text? Is it possible? on: April 20, 2009, 03:04:48 pm
I need to temporarily center the caption text in the top frame... Where in Win7 Style Builder can I find the setting for this? If it can't be centered, can I at least increase the left margin so that the caption is moved away from the side of the top frame?

I've looked but can't seem to find where this can be adjusted...

Yes. I renamed it back to Aero and now it works!

Thanks a million!

I am really happy that it's working now!

15  Help / Windows 7 / Aero is not enabled when I activate my Visual Style... How can I fix this? on: April 19, 2009, 09:54:59 pm
I did a visual style for Windows 7 build 7077 based on the original Aero Style that simply modifies the taskbar transparency... It works fine with AveStyler but if I try to change from Aero Style to my VS, within the Personalization explorer window, I get Windows Basic with no transparency instead of Windows Aero.  Same thing happens when I initially install my theme pack, it shows up as Basic and not Aero.

Is there a setting in Win7 StyleBuilder that will prevent it from switching to Basic all the time? Or am I doing something else wrong?

Thanks,

InTime

P.S.: The only way I can currently get Aero is with AveStyler. My UXTheme is patched and works fine. When I reboot my system without the AveStyler Service (stopped), I get Aero but only if my VS was the active VS before rebooting. In short, if someone else wants to use my VS, they can't have Aero unless they have AveStyler to 'Enable Aero'!
