Well what you need to do is save a 32 bit bmp with a alpha channel and through it into a alpha converter and then click shift+import
Results in plain white buttons..

WSB doesn't import images with gradients properly.
Yeah I noticed somehow... lol But that never happened before so I don't know. I'll try using Restorator to change the image then. EDIT: Didn't work even with Restorator. The gradient still appears opaque.

Can I take a look your theme file?
Sorry but I'd rather keep it private for the moment. Tell me what you want to know about the theme and I'll give you the info..

I think Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Basic > TaskBand > TaskItemButton BGTYPE:ENUM IMAGEFILE
It's already set to imagefile

Did you try to "shift-import" your image ?
Good point, thanks. That -kind of- worked, the gradient is displaying properly now but it is opaque even though I have Transparent:bool checked.. Any ideas?

An idea would be mess with the sizing margins, and if that didn't work just make the taskbar buttons smaller. 7 is just sizing them smaller in the wrong way.
It didn't work, and I kinda guessed it in advance since the problem occurs with small icons too. Thanks for trying though ..

Help / Windows 7 / TaskItemButton Sizing.
|
on: February 13, 2010, 09:19:08 pm

Hey, I have a problem with the sizing of the Taskband item buttons. My original PNG has a gradient that doesn't display right when I apply the theme, so I tried changing the sizing margins to the path "Taskbar & System Tray > TaskBand > Basic > TaskBand > TaskItemButton" where the image is located but it didn't work. Image: How can I fix this? Thanks!

Can we put a "Not Verified" message on users after a week or so who haven't, so we can see who is and who isn't legit. I am legit and I haven't been here for a long while. So I guess your idea would make a lot of innocent people look bad too.

Help / Windows 7 / Re: Visual style images. Double border?
|

Oh yeah something similar happens when you choose to change the window's border size. When you make them the smallest, if you want a straight 1 px line visible you need to draw a 2 px line in the image itself. Kinda weird.

Windows Style Builder / Bug Reports / Crashes and stylehack bug.
|
on: December 16, 2009, 10:17:11 pm
|
The program crashes a lot, specially when I save. It's really getting annoying. And there's a bug with the stylehacks, I made large shadows on one of my visual styles, imported them in a stylehack to apply them easily on my other themes. I applied that stylehack to my latest visual style, I clicked Import Images but it bugged and now there's no image at all: and the size viewer on the top left says 0 x 0 px. I tried putting the image manually but it makes the prog crash.

Go there: Fonts, Colors & System Metrics > Fonts & System Metrics And change the value of the property PADDEDBORDERWIDTH:SIZE It should be 4 by default. Make ita higher number and your borders will be larger. It works to make them thinner too.

This picture will talk more than any word I could write here. Including 3 start orbs and a brand new feature to the browsing interface; you actually have to guess what window will come up when you click on the taskbar. Damn, I wish bill gates could see this. PS: This is a joke. PS2: This is a real theme.

Photoshop definately CAN handle 32 bit bmps, but you need to go to the Channels panel and create an alpha layer. It works that way.

Sorry if I sound like a bitch now but I don't think I ever allowed you to use parts of my theme. Please respect my work and the time I spent making my visual style and at least ask for permission to mod / take parts of it.

Try changing the two last values of the content margins maybe. Not sure if it'll work, but it should.

Other / Other / Re: The future of replacing resources...
|
on: November 02, 2009, 12:43:37 am

It looks interesting. Are you planning on releasing more details? Maybe you can update AveStyler to support this type of replacement. Right now, AveStyler can only load themes -- which is great! But now on Windows 7, Start Button is in Explorer.exe... So for instance, have "Resources" folder inside of C:\Windows\Theme\Squaero Example: I have 'explorer.exe' in C:\Windows\Theme\Squaero\Resources AveStyler reads "Resources" folder and sees 'explorer.exe', 'shell32.dll', 'explorerframe.dll'. AveStyler then applies the explorer, shell32, and explorerframe .dll's without touching system files. That's a great idea. Not sure if it's possible but I sure hope it is.

Uhh that's a pretty weird problem.. For some reason my left DMW frame ignores the sizingmargins I set... while the right one works fine. That's annoying..

Help / Windows 7 / Re: Separating lines [Content view]
|
on: October 27, 2009, 10:31:55 pm

Well I noticed that it passes UNDER the ListView > ListItem > Hot image (see below), so I thought that if I'd fill Listview > ListItem > Normal with my bg's color, it would go over it. I had to add an image to the normal state but it didn't give any result :/ I never added an image before so maybe I didn't do it right ..

When you set the view to Content view on windows 7, these lines are displayed between each item. I'd like to know where to change them..

I have news, I succeded in porting this theme, but I had to open Aero.msstyles first and import the whole Startmenu tree to a stylehack, and apply it to the port. Maybe the import option doesn't translate the startmenu properties correctly..
