1  Help / Windows 10 / Re: How to actually apply the theme outside of testing environment? on: July 13, 2020, 02:03:32 am
By Personalization CPL I assume you mean themecpl.dll when I initially thought you meant the Personalization menu. Alright well I tried opening the .msstyle through it and it gave me this: https://imgur.com/a/KSM0Gh9

I already mentioned I can't access the old Personalization. Attempting to do so just opens up the Desktop folder

WSB didn't generate a .theme file even after I told it to

I've worked on enough of my theme that I would like to have it go through a trial period of day-to-day use. Problem is, I don't know how to actually apply it and I keep running into problems.

1. When I tried to click 'Use Visual Style Now' I get blackscreened, forcing me to do a system restore. Assumedly this is because the .msstyle isn't in the appropriate folder
2. I then tried to save a copy of the .msstyle in Windows/Resources/Themes but when I click on it it just takes me to this dialog: https://imgur.com/a/Kc96jg3
3. It also doesn't show up in Settings > Personalization > Themes. I cannot get the old Personalization. I tried
4. Back in WSB, I tried to open that copy of the theme but when I try to save it so I can apply it I get this: https://imgur.com/a/2dmNm1P
5. Also in the save dialog even though I checked "Write .theme file" no .theme file is actually generated

At a reall loss rn.
5  Help / Windows 10 / Re: New to themebuilding, how to disable caption text glow? on: June 25, 2020, 05:07:45 pm
Alright. I used the tool I fed the color into the converter and changed the COLORIZATION COLOR in Colors(Globals) to 4405077. But then it just turns the background of the text area to pure black which is not what I want.

Also the COLORIZATIONOPACITIES were already at 0 with the original issue

Is there a download for the Colorization Color Converter? I don't see it in the thread you linked

Edit: ahhh nvm I forgot it came bundled with the program

I got WSB a few months back and played around for a bit. But I've been stuck at this part ever since and to this day I don't know how to fix it

I'm trying to make it so that the background 'glow' text is the same color as the rest of the titlebar (I'm using a custom placeholder image), I would like to remove the glow completely. I've looked everywhere but no tutorial works. Am on ver 1909.

For example one tutorial suggested I go to "Windows & Caption Buttons > Aero > DWM Window > Frames > Details > Glows > Text > Image" but it's not there. In its place is "Windows & Caption Buttons > Aero > DWM Window > Frames > Details > Glows > Caption Text"

I was also told that "If you want a custom titlebar color/image change all the values from <1> to <4> and set the Opacity and Colorization Opacity to 0, if you want the titlebar to use the Windows accent color set them all to 100." but I don't see those values anywhere on the right sidebar.

I've looked in other places too but I really don't feel the effort to try to sign up for all these forums just to find a solution to my problem. Can anyone help with this
