Thanks, it's definitely this. But, a question: It only change this tabs, or another text anywhere too? Because I want to change it to white or gray, and I don't want to damage other parts.
Thank you all; I will try to redesign this part.

I don't think you can change the style of the text in the sort tabs. You can change the color, but I forget where. The sad thing is that you can only use one color for all of them.
Well, no problem. I was looking where can I change the text colour, but I didn't find it anywhere; so it would be very helful if you (or somebody) could tell me where. Thanks.

Panda X: I don't understand it very much. You're talking about adding this tabs in left, in prefered places? iffy525: it doesn't matter if image is 6, 10 or 60px wide. It seems that only takes 2px in left, and ignore the rest. I add 2 more pixels at right, and it doesn't appear. iJesse: Now I really don't remember. But I'd done a tutorial long time ago; you can see it here: http://www.aeroxp.org/board/index.php?showtopic=11943&hl=If you find it interesting, maybe I can add this post here.

Help / Windows Vista / Aesthetic problem with Header.item
|
on: June 24, 2009, 07:40:14 pm

Hi, Finally I redesigned my scrollbars, and I like it. But I've a problem with the 'default' header.item tab. It's hard to explain, so I upload an image: As you can see, the union between header.item and scroll is very "forced". In the first time, I change up arrow button for scrollbars, that includes a border for header.item, but it appears always (in a notepad, for example) and I don't like it very much. I change the default image for Header.item (that appears when there's no tab, at right). I create a 4px image, and adjust sizing margins to 1, 2, 0, 0 (I want a 1px border in left and 2px border in right). But image appears as you see in image: it doesn't take care about this 2px right border, and only takes the first 2px. I tried so many things, but I'm not able to do a 1 or 2 px border at right of this default header.item. What can I do? Is this not possible? Any aesthetic suggestion, or something? I don't like this "forced" header. This tabs are creating me so many problems... Thanks, any help will be helpful

Help / Windows Vista / Re: *solved* How to show the name of my theme?

I've the same problem. I can load other VS and view its name without problem, but my style appears as "Aero Style" (but this is not the "default" name of Vista VS, default name is "Windows Aero"). I changed this documentation that Panda X posted, but it doesn't change nothing. Anyone knows what's happening? What I have to look through? Thanks.

Help / Windows Vista / Re: [HELP] Addressbar Text Position.

Maybe it's a problem with DWM. But I think that it's impossible to move up to caption's buttons zone, because this is the window border and you cant put nothing there.
I think that if you could move this adressbar upper, it will be dissapearing as it superimpose on this "caption border".

Yeah, I uploaded a screenshot, I guess that you can recognize this window: Here you can change theme options, clicking in advanced. You have to select the corresponding option (I don't know how is called in English; maybe caption buttons, or something similar; you can try changing and looking if caption buttons change its size), and change the size (default is 19, and minimum is 8). Reducing this, you will reduce the top border and caption buttons.

Do you want to move to an upper position, right? I think that this is not possible. The upper side (at left of the caption buttons) is considered a window's border. You only can reduce this "border", reducing caption buttons size (in advanced options of theme). Maybe it will be an interesting option.

Hi, I've tried to change this value. See the next image: The default value is 7. But in my image there's 8 pixels, so the error should be this content margin. I changed it to 8, but the gradient still appearing (but different). And, Obviously, change it to 9 it spoil it more. -- Look at bottom frame too. Seeing this, I'm sure that the correct value SHOULD be 8, but it doesn't appear correctly. So, the solution that I saw is change this only pixel to a 3 pixel square. This is the method in bottom frame, and with default content margins it seems well rendered. It's a really mistery... Thanks for your help.

Yes, is still happening with other colours, and only in top and bottom. I don't understand it.
__________ Now, I see that I have to create a thicker border (but I don't understant why): not with an only pixel, but with 3. Margins was well adjusted, so I don't know where was the problem. But now it seems that with a 3 pixel border this gradient dissapeared.

I've a problem with this tool window. As you see in the image, I painted with pink plain colour 2 pixels height for inner border. But applied, I see a gradient in this pink colour. Why is this happening?

Have you tried to do a "TRUSIZE" option? Maybe it looks well if you do a large pattern (length for your max resolution) and turn this option on.

With "fading" do you mean a glowed text? You can add properties into respective category (now I don't know where is it, but where you change images).
For a glowed text, you need to add: TEXTGLOWSIZE:INT (for glow size) GLOWINTENSITY:INT (for glow intensity) GLOWCOLOR:COLOR (you can choose a color for glowing) And with TEXTCOLOR:COLOR you can change text color
Also, I guess that you need to add a COMPOSITED:BOOL (TRUE) in this category or its father.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have other visual styles, and I can see its name correctly. Only mine has this "bug".
I always leave the documentation as original, but I saw that my VS' name doesn't change and I tried this way. But I recover an old version, and now I still having documentation as original.

Help / Windows Vista / Some foolish troubles

Hi, I'm trying to remember every thing about VS, but there's some things that I cannot remember well. I though that the first thing I do was change name, author and these things, following an U.K.Intel tutorial (not with this program). And I applied DeskHack, that I think that it's for see visual styles' names.
But I don't know why, my visual style name, now, is "Aero Style" and "Aero Basic Style" (and this is different than originals Aero: "Windows Aero" and "Windows Vista Basic"). I don't know why this is happening, because I remember that I saw my theme's name correctly in past. I formated this laptop, but I apply UXTheme and DeskHack correctly. The most strange thing is this change on name. If it appears the same as original there's no problem at all, but a problem with DeskHack apply; but the name of my theme is not the same as Vista Aero original.
I tried to change documentation with StyleBuilder. And, more strange, I only see one style, only Basic. Aero style, with transparency, disappeared. Why? Can anyone help me?
Sorry if this is a very noobish question. I'm trying to rejoin this "world", since a long time break. Thanks for your help, and for reading this.
