OMFG!  This is so awesome, but does one need to rely on an application to do this?
Or can it be done by patching a file or even in MSSTYLES?

Small Close Buttons :)

I figured out how to change it, unfortunately, you'll need a debugger and some offsets - I will look into the possibility of making an application for it.

Amazing, this is something all of us skinners raise our fists at because it is so restricting.
Is it possible to change the button height as well?  If not, that's fine.  The main problem was the close button's width, and you seemed to have solved that!

Keep on hackin'  ;)

I can't log in as I'm subject to Fair Access Policy (used over 300MB accidentally today, my PC clock hicupped over DST and the time was messed up so my download manager didn't stop at the proper time)... speeds are below dialup :(

Do you think you'll be around by 1AM?  It is currently 6:20 PM here.

Small demo, works on Win7 (x86  x64) and Vista (x86 only for now) - run on own risk.

Please read the instructions carefully :)

Cool demo. :)

Is it possible to change vertical height, or vertical centering?
Reason why is because I want to have buttons not attached to the top, but vertically centered in the frame.

The conflict I can see with this is the maximized titlebar height.  But I think that area is 'intelligent' in the way it automatically size the titlebar area of the caption buttons, right?

OK Ive got some problems now. First it doesnt include any readme or something. Second. it doesnt work on my Vista x86. It´s sayng side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

I have just gone from 2.333333, to 3.666666.  A couple of questions, is it an in-memory change, or has it now hard-edited DWM/Aero?

Could you be able to modify the Basic theme to have individual sizes for those buttons, I assume not?

Finally, Can the position be changed, to detach from the very top of the frame?

Oh and one final question, what are the side-effects for doing this, the zip file contained no instructions...

I just had a thought, how will this app effect the minimum window size, this is what I have found...

okay I understand your problem, but I think that more users want to make them smaller not bigger :D

//edit
Ohhh  :( I thought it would be a permanent solution, but after a restart the settings are gone

Andreas i have a problem, unfortunately CloseButtonChanger32 did not work to my windows 7 RC x 86  VERSION  and also not  to my windows vista Ultimate x 86 version.

current ratio value -0.000000.New value <0=exit>:

(if i insert a value, like 2.3 perchaps on first time explorer dmw not crashed,  it says that  is patched though no changing happened to close button, if i do second time happened as to first, or  usually  dwm  crashed. sometimes after system restart and pressed CloseButtonChanger and  insert values dwm crashed from the first time )

and  see
(http://windowsedge.com/imageuploads/pics/30422b50aaa8816b82493d83c967979c.jpg)
with a value 2.9 crashed [though as i said with the previous values none changing happened to the buttons size/position]
i hope you find the right solutions, please if you want any specific informations about the system please ask me.

[to both systems i had installed before leftsider though i have disabled it , for not having problems with your closebuttonchanger in case that it has any relationship in code action]

Ave, what happen with close button changer?

i mean this : if final version must be a paid one , please if you have time do it, if thats the point.
i dont know ofcourse if you remain sp1 files, dwm or whatever needed.

from the other an older version of dwm which dissapears the blur in windows like that  [ http://pacmani.deviantart.com/art/HideBlur-Tool-for-Windows-7-137636666  ] its not compatible with close button changer, so if we have to use close button changer it would be good to have some values? or properties? compatible with that, as that version is more usefull than microsoft's blur one.(i believe if someone need blur he can set a little semitransparent color, so the version of dwm with no blur at the windows, is more usefull)
thanks in advance and hope not interupting you from your work.
