Title: Changing StartIsBack user picture frame?
Post by: ModderWizard on December 22, 2018, 09:30:27 am
I just purchased this program so I'll admit I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing.

I wanted to edit the "Plain8.msstyles" that comes with StartIsBack because it the user picture in the start menu is a circle, and I want it to be a square instead.

I was able to find the bitmap images for the picture frame in the Windows 7 style file using ResourceHacker, but couldn't find them in WSB. The Plain8 style file I couldn't anything even in ResourceHacker.

I'm on Windows 10 1809 (using http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/80749-Windows-10-1809-WSB-update-and-Dark-Mode-Style-Script). I figured I would need that since I'm on Win10 but I don't really know at this point.

If somebody could let me know what I need to do, that would be fantastic.

(Image to clarify exactly which element I am talking about)

I don't use SIB so I'm not sure where the picture frame image is located there.

I do know that it was never in the msstyles before and so couldn't be edited in WSB.

Well, it seems I figured it out.

The "Windows 7.msstyles" theme has the user picture frame as bitmap resources (in various resolutions) at 7013, 7014, 7015, and 7016. I just exported those using ResourceHacker and imported it into the Windows 8 msstyles theme.

So I guess I didn't need StyleBuilder after all. Oh well.
