Title: Need help with explorer maps Post by: borisbaer on September 07, 2015, 04:03:01 pm Hello! I'm trying to create a new theme for me but I just don't find the maps for certain areas of the explorer.
If somebody could help me, I'd really appreciate it! I marked the areas in this screenshot: (http://i.imgur.com/8nJwb39.jpg) Title: Re: Need help with explorer maps Post by: 3am on September 07, 2015, 05:04:47 pm 1) Gray lines in content view are ItemRowLayout SeparatorLine in ExplorerFrame.dll > UIFILE > 40960. You can only change them or get rid them by editing the UIFILE 40960 in the custom shellstyle in OldNewExplorer
2) The white part in the NavBar you can change by unchecking Enable Glass On Navigation Bar in OldNewExplorer or theming it correctly this way: http://vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=1911.msg10806#msg10806 3) The white line on the left is Explorer & Shell > Explorer > PreviewPane > ProperTree Separator 4) Not sure about the white lines on the top and bottom. Search for the color in WSB and then start changing stuff and testing until you find them Title: Re: Need help with explorer maps Post by: borisbaer on September 07, 2015, 07:48:59 pm Thanks 3am, but unfortunately I ran into some issues:
1) How do I find the custom shellstyle of OldNewExplorer? I know the basics, Resource Hacker etc. but which file do I need to edit in that case? 4) It doesn't help to search for the color of the white frame because it's white and that's why I get a lot results. Plus I tried to replace every white color with red but the white frame remains. So it's probably an image... but which one? Title: Re: Need help with explorer maps Post by: 3am on September 07, 2015, 09:51:51 pm If you are using OldNewExplorer replace the shellstyle in your theme folder with the one you can download through this link. It should make those gray lines disappear: http://www.filedropper.com/newfolder_33 I can't do anything about those white lines without actually seeing the msstyles and, maybe, having to set everything else up like you too. Just keep looking. Sorry. Title: Re: Need help with explorer maps Post by: borisbaer on September 08, 2015, 06:50:42 pm Okay, I think I got it now. I think the white lines come from QTabBar.
But there's one big question left for me: Why does a custom theme always changes the window color? I mean usually it's white but when I choose a theme I created with WSB it always gets colored. I can change the color with the normal Windows color selection but I can't make it white anymore. Any help? Title: Re: Need help with explorer maps Post by: 3am on September 08, 2015, 08:50:12 pm Huh? What do you mean by "window color"? Show me a picture.
Anyway, nothing should change color unless you changed it Title: Re: Need help with explorer maps Post by: borisbaer on September 10, 2015, 12:58:30 pm This is what I mean when I say window color:
(http://i.imgur.com/0P8IL95.jpg) The window color always changes dependig on what color your wallpaper is. I'd like to know if I can choose a fixed color for this part of the window. Despite this I have some other problems finding the maps for those colors: (http://i.imgur.com/mSmQWLe.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/SgAiloi.jpg) Edit: Found the map for the button: Buttons, Boxes, & Controls > Buttons > Button > PushButton (http://i.imgur.com/fZqMYT2.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/knzdIGD.jpg) (http://i.imgur.com/pdXLZn7.jpg) Thank you for your great support and help! :) Title: Re: Need help with explorer maps Post by: 3am on September 10, 2015, 09:20:55 pm 1) Turn off "Automatically pick an accent color from my background" in System Settings > Personalization > Colors. If you are using any build higher than 10240 then this happens whether you have it checked or not. If you want the top frame to have a solid color then color the top frame images and then follow this ( doing the values for your color whatever it is): http://vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=2230.msg12977#msg12977 2) You can only change this stuff by using a black or white high contrast ribbon ( white is white Fonts & System Metrics > BTNFACE and black BTNTEXT while black is just the opposite) Map is here: http://vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=2028.msg11578#msg11578 ( you still can't change the color behind File though) 3) I don't use Photoshop so I don't know if it uses any or all colors from the msstyle. But that looks like either Lists, Menus, & Tabs > Menu > PopUpItem > Hot or Fonts & system Metrics > Highlight 4) I'm not sure what you are doing here. Could be Fonts & System Metrics > HIGHLIGHT or Explorer & Shell > Explorer > Items View > ListView > ListItem > Hot or Explorer & Shell > Explorer > Items View > ItemsView > Selected Property > Background. I need more info. 5) That looks like Drag/Drop. Map is here: http://vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=1485.0. In your case it's Explorer & Shell > Shell > DragDrop > Move Title: Re: Need help with explorer maps Post by: borisbaer on October 01, 2015, 12:27:51 pm 1) Turn off "Automatically pick an accent color from my background" in System Settings > Personalization > Colors. Thanks! 2) Okay, seems like I have to live with it since I don't want to use a high contrast ribbon. 3) I still haven't figured out where I can find this setting. Unfortunately it seems like this is kind of buggy. Sometimes it switches to grey along with the font color when I change some values I find by using the color search and sometimes (if I do the exact same thing again) it doesn't. 4) This is just the color underlay for when you're editing a file name or text, nothing special. Still, it's the same thing as above, sometimes it works and sometimes not. Where would I change the font color? 5) Got it! Thanks a lot! So I have almost finished the explorer part of my theme but there's still some things I want to customize, e.g.: (http://i.imgur.com/7bmxiGe.jpg) Title: Re: Need help with explorer maps Post by: 3am on October 01, 2015, 01:08:51 pm http://vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=1971.0
( the icon numbers are probably different in 10) I'm still not sure about what's happening in #4. Try these textcolors: Fonts and System Metrics > HIGHLIGHT TEXT Explorer & Shell > Explorer > Items View > ItemsView > Details > Selected Explorer & Shell > Explorer > Items View > ItemsView > Details > Selected Property btw you seem to be using a tab bar app (QTTabBar?) so this might affect your background and text colors. It might be the reason they seem to change when they should remain the same. Maybe. Title: Re: Need help with explorer maps Post by: Udzi on October 13, 2015, 07:18:15 pm Hey borisbaer,
how did you change the "Schnellzugriff"/Quick Access Icon? I see they are in shell32.dll but that file can't be changed because of its MS Signature. Thanks! |
