Little help button tells you what it does. It's the frames used during the minimize/restore animations.

Those are some rather obscure points of the visual style and very difficult to test.

The Slow DWM animations registry key helped in identifying those.

Ok thanks a lot that's ..  enlighting.

You made me discover the little help btn.

I though that all the items in the soft were identified and understood by Ave.. I know now that its much more cryptic. It's really a shame that MS make these specifications closed like that; all the code is there for the OS to support skinning from a-z... Hell the skin editor should come with the OS, at least with ultimate..

Hail Lord Ave's brilliant reverse engeneering!   ;)

I replaced every Fading element with a 100% transparent 1px PNG file, reloaded the theme, and it doesn't seem to affect the minimize/restore animations.

My minimize/restore animations are still there.

Are you sure this is what it changes?

Yeah. I tested it completely.

Where is it visible?

try to set it to a 100% opaque lime color, and you will see it pass when you minimize / restore frames.

Oh, ok, thanks :)

I see it now, I don't really see the point of it, but I do see it.

I think in Vista the Animated frames lost their white highlight and shadows, and I suppose in theory it may be possible to do some interesting things for the animations.  Maybe add some motion blur effect, or have the frames change shape for the animation etc...
