Title: Help Me Please Post by: jeffrey on June 30, 2013, 12:21:11 am Hi, I just purchased this software and have no idea where to start. I want to get into modding the default Windows 8/8.1 themes, but I am lost. I just got the application setup and running, but I think something is wrong with it? The bottom of the window has some error message, you can see the inserted image below:

Title: Re: Help Me Please Post by: 3am on June 30, 2013, 12:15:44 pm That error message is for a feature no longer used. Just click the information icon in the toolbar and it'll go away. There's nothing wrong.
Here's a video about how to use WSB for beginners: http://vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=1268.0 Title: Re: Help Me Please Post by: jeffrey on July 01, 2013, 04:45:39 am That error message is for a feature no longer used. Does anyone know where I can get the patch file to patch the system files to allow 3rd party themes? I'm currently on 8.1 preview. Title: Re: Help Me Please Post by: jeffrey on July 01, 2013, 05:48:33 am There aren't any yet :( Is the standard Windows 8 version not compatible? Where can I get the patch for Windows 8? Thanks edit: nevermind! Quote I have received quite a bit of email looking for Windows 8.1 support and I'm willing to make the changes needed... but my kernel code signing certificate has expired. As UxStyle isn't a revenue generating activity for me, I ask that others please consider chipping in to fund the purchase of a new certificate. After the funding goal is met, I'll buy the certificate and release an update to support Windows 8.1. Do the locations still apply to Windows 8? For instance, I wanted to change the transparent taskbar to a solid color without transparency.
Title: Re: Help Me Please Post by: 3am on July 08, 2013, 11:12:58 am Most of the locations are the same. Most of the new ones are in Windows 8 (For Testing Purposes Only). If they don't work check out the posts on the 8 Help board for new locations or ask.

I followed the instructions you gave here (http://vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=1872.msg10548#msg10548) to change the taskbar and it worked, but the colors seem off? The shade of the color I made it seems off from what I have in the photo editing app. I think it's something to do with the built-in color and appearance options? Is there a way to make the color more accurate without having to mess around with the color mixer and color intensity in the 'Color and Appearance" window? |
