Title: Changing the Clock Display
Post by: Wolverine1977 on January 11, 2009, 08:41:33 pm
Anyone know how I can change the clock to display the time and day - I thought it was font size related like in XP but was wrong, I have a theme I would really like to modify so that rather than just display the time it has the time then the day underneath it.
I am new to using style builder and could use some help.

Thanks

Thanks for the response but I have a couple of themes from deviantart that display the time and day, I had a chance to compare the differences a little today and it appears as though it is related to the height of the taskbar - the system tray icons on the theme that has the day displayed are stacked 2 high and the theme I am trying to modify only displays a single icon high. I guess I will have to investigate further and compare the taskbar heights of the 2 themes and play around.  :S

I've had this happen to me before. I was either playing with the taskbar size (Taskbar & Tray Notify > Taskbar > Basic > TaskBar --> Height) or playing with the fonts/font size of the clock. I don't remember what font or size it was, though.

So it is possible.

You have to adjust the taskbar's height so it fits in nicely.  Change the Tray Notify font size to 8 (Taskbar & Tray Notify > Tray Notify > Basic > Clock > <default>).  Change Top/Bottom Content Margin's in Tray Notify (Taskbar & Tray Notify > Tray Notify > Basic > Horizontal > TrayNotify > Background) -- Set top to 0, bottom to -1.

You should be able to see the time and day now.  The 'Date' lies below 'Day', so you can't see all three lines unless you enlarge the taskbar even more but at that rate, you might as well just enlarge the taskbar via the sizer.

Now if anyone can minimize the linespacing or better yet, place all that information in one line, that would be grand!
As for now, I'm sticking with TClock.  8)

@ OP:  Have you seen any clean implementation of this?  I'm thinking that you might've seen some Windows 7 themes for Vista or something.  I have never seen a custom Vista theme that did this myself.
