Title: Windows System Rating Post by: Doel on January 11, 2012, 12:11:48 pm 3am,
in this thread: http://vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=1180.0 I notice that your rating only show: "System Rating is not available" How do you disable the System Rating? I hate that system rating index number, as it appears that it is a windows generated raster image and looks very jiggy if we replaced the panel color to a dark color. I also noticed Dave Senior has managed to overcome the problem ... Perhaps Dave should also give a walk thru as to how he did it .. :) Title: Re: Windows System Rating Post by: Dave Senior on January 11, 2012, 12:36:05 pm For the score Background change the Bitmaps here:
C:\Windows\System32 > WinSATAPI.dll > Bitmap's 221 and 222 . Title: Re: Windows System Rating Post by: Doel on January 11, 2012, 12:50:22 pm Yes Dave, I've got that bitmap 221 & 222 ...
Tried to replicate your image and save it with alpha channel, only shows a white background with black outline and the index number looks very ugly ... Managed to disable Experience index thru regedit. Title: Re: Windows System Rating Post by: Dave Senior on January 11, 2012, 12:56:07 pm Lol,sorry, I misunderstood :-[
I haven't done anything with the number,it's just how mine is. Title: Re: Windows System Rating Post by: 3am on January 11, 2012, 01:04:46 pm You mean why I don't have any numbers like here etc?:
http://vistastylebuilder.com/forum/index.php?topic=1242.0 Don't know. One day they just disappeared and never came back no matter what method I tried to return them :S Title: Re: Windows System Rating Post by: Doel on January 11, 2012, 01:15:42 pm Yeah .. right ...
and also on your CPL-System only shows: "System Rating is not available" Just in case you're interested in turning on/off of that Experience Rating, here is the link: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/124690-windows-experience-index-enable-disable.html ... and perhaps you can further explore the problem with the score number ugly looking .. :) Title: Re: Windows System Rating Post by: Dave Senior on January 11, 2012, 01:23:17 pm The score number has something to do with having transparency in the image,as you can see mine's made up of solid colors,no transparency ,no bad looking number.
Title: Re: Windows System Rating Post by: Doel on January 11, 2012, 02:33:11 pm You might have that mixed up, at least in my case with transparency is much better than solid color.
The first two images use a red solid color and the last two use transparency ... Thanks guys ... Title: Re: Windows System Rating Post by: Dave Senior on January 11, 2012, 03:07:55 pm Here's the image I use with a 1px transparent border, all messed up.
Also one using a red solid color :S. Title: Re: Windows System Rating Post by: Doel on January 11, 2012, 06:09:52 pm Here is my bitmap ... so you can test it ...
Appreciate if you can also post the one that you're using ... I like it better than mine :) :) Title: Re: Windows System Rating Post by: JoCe-from-France on May 13, 2012, 12:28:39 pm I come 4 month later....
thanks to have made available your work on this. I have noticed that, with a totally black alpha layer (and a "hex color"=44, 45, 45): -the upper left pixel gives the shadow color of the score -the adjacent pixel immediately on the right is the transparent color. But this color, if present under the score number, will show up through the antialiasing pixels! illustration : (http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/5959/captureajc.png) Here the shadow and the transparent color are the same (red) making the shadow transparent everywhere BUT through the anti-aliasing of the score. |
