Title: simple but stupid question about .theme vs visual style
Post by: Nepwin7 on April 26, 2010, 03:20:58 am
hey
My name is Michelle
I have a question, dumb really but I do..
I like a skin here in dev art but the skin is blue, I wanted to mod it for myself
to make it goldish etc...
I have the Win 7 Style Builder [link]
back in the day I used the one tgsoft made, but now it is all different
my question is...
when you open a visual style in it, you can edit change, etc, save as visual style
which for me is familiar, been there
but windows 7 doesn't open the skin I just saved because it needs to have the .theme file outside the folder where the .msstyle (the visual style you just saved) in the folder...
what am I doing wrong?
I mean, how do I edit this .theme file?

it's just that the style builder edits the msstyles files
but the skins have to have a .theme file outside the folder where the .msstyles is
and I don't know how to make that file

because since I am making a mod of an existent skin
i edit the msstyles file with your program
but when i go to apply the skin that I changed
it looks messy because windows applies via .theme file

please help me
this is driving me crazy!

thanks

-Mi

Make a copy of aero.theme. Rename it yourname.theme. Open it in Notepad. Change aero to yourname where the arrows are. Save it and you have a yourname.theme file.
