Hi

I really need help , I've searched all around the posts and saw that wasn't the only one with that issue :

Running win 7 x64 , when I save a msstyle after modify one and restart comp , I get stucked at logon screen  !

The only thing I could do was to unpatch system files with an other account to log in my regular one !

I also tried the workaround told by Andreas there :

We (hopefully) identified the problem; here's a temp. solution:
1. Open up (or create the file) %appdata%/vistastylebuilder/settings.ini in notepad, be sure to give it an *.ini extension.
2. Add the following:

[Settings]
FirstImageId=508

3. Save the ini file
4. Resave your msstyles file
5. it should no longer crash now

Ifthis proves to be working for everyone, we'll release an update for VSB/7SB.

But no way .
Since I got my licence for 1 day , does the last release has that bug ? seems yes .

My other question is about where to put that ini file

I have 3 main folders inside the hidden folder "appdata ( local/locallow/ and roaming )
The path designed means to create vistastylebuilder beside them ?
( I did that way but still the same issue at login

%appdata%/vistastylebuilder/  Whoa what path is that ?

or should I had put the folder inside one of the others mentioned ??

I used UniversalThemePatcher-x64 , had not patched other system files ( explorer.exe/shell32.dll and explorerframe.dll are untouched )

and the mstyle I tried to save is Soliq7_1_VS_for_WIN7_RTM_by_rheaoctober( just changed background explorer , tree pane and details pane colors plus soe fonts colors )

I'd like to say too i have no issues when applying 7 visual styles already made by others .

Thanks for help , I'm driving mad and sad not to be able to use your nice soft !  Huh? Huh?

Just to let you know typing %appdata% and clicking go or hitting enter takes you to the appdata/roaming folder. It's an environmental variable.

I had this same problem the other day, I never had any problems previously been making my own themes without editing the settings.ini, but the problem seemed to be triggered for me when I installed Cairo shell program... don't know why, but this fix did definitely help

sure this fix helped me , although I don't have cairo shell installed .

Tried it few weeks ago but don't like it .

Don't know what it is ever meant to desserve . opus directory is by far the best as explorer replacement .
